At Psychotherapy for Women, we specialize in supporting women’s health and overall mental well-being from ages 18 and up. Our providers treat all women suffering with symptoms of depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem, with a unique emphasis on perinatal/postpartum mood disorders, navigating relationship stressors, and substance use concerns. We also focus on helping women learn to manage feelings of overstimulation and overwhelm, navigate motherhood and its challenging moments, improve communication skills and strengthen relationships, enhance and grow self-confidence, reduce intrusive unwanted negative thoughts, set and communicate healthy boundaries, navigate and cope with feelings of grief and loss, and learn how to manage a variety of other life stressors. Our program mission is to help you take better care of yourself, so you can start feeling better and live the life you want for yourself.
Our licensed therapists provide individual, specialized one-on-one support, tailored to meet your unique set of needs and goals for therapy. We do this by approaching your treatment using a variety of techniques, including the following evidence-based treatments: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Integrative Change Therapy (ICT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. We also incorporate interventions to assist you in learning mindfulness skills, increasing tools to improve self-compassion, helping you better navigate relationships with others, treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and low self-esteem. We find that using a variety of therapeutic interventions provides you as the client with a more comprehensive and individualized treatment approach, tailored to meet your specific wants and goals. Our goal is to help you feel supported and empowered to make lasting change in your life and feel a sense of healing.
Our practice is composed of board approved supervisors and licensed therapists in Virginia and West Virginia. We offer an array of services specifically for the professional and masters level social work student.
